With the addition of WoW Tokens everyone will be looking at personal gold in a different way. The same goes for the guild bank. I wanted to take a moment and talk about how we use guild gold and if/how that might change.
Before we dig in, there is something that needs to be mentioned. For a long time a small number of people have funded our real world expenses. Thank You! I would also like to provide the biggest contributors the gold to buy a WoW token. They have contributed far more than the current real-dollar value. Going forward I'd like to use guild gold to at least partially fund our real world expenses (website/mumble). I'd love to hear your feedback on this idea before doing anything. Catch me in game or in mumble with your thoughts and ideas, just not during raid.
A Treatise on Guild Gold Traditionally our bank has been funded by two means, Guild Challenges and the sales of BoEs from guild raids. Also, a large amount of the current balance came from the now defunct Cash Flow perk. I wish that one was still around. I don't expect guild income to change much in the near future but we can definitely optimize it. This isn't a decree to make more money for the guild. We are here to have fun and be social. I just wanted people to have a better grasp of where the money comes from and where it goes. Especially since it equates more directly to real $$$ now.
